Creative collaboration sits at the heart of Additions 2026. For this collection, we worked closely with glass artist Nienke Sikkema, inviting her distinct perspectives into the design process, not as an addition but as a driving force in shaping the collection’s direction.
Working with glass artist Nienke Sikkema felt less like a collaboration and more like stepping into her world. A world of molten glass, precise timing and controlled chaos, where shapes emerge like carved light. Together, we created a family of glass objects that feel like contemporary gemstones: heavy, luminous and slightly unruly.
Nienke Sikkema’s work is represented by galleries and platforms including The Frozen Fountain (Amsterdam) and Hem, where her Bubble Candelabra is part of the Hem X collection. In the Netherlands, her work is shown through RiRa Objects, Galerie Brandstof and directly from her studio at De Oude Horn.
This collaboration isn’t about decoration, it’s about intention. Nienke Sikkema’s material-driven way of working fits seamlessly with HKLIVING’s focus on character and experimentation. The result is a collection that feels expressive and individual, adding a sharper, more artistic layer to the brand.

For this collaboration, Sikkema designed six glass objects — from drinking glasses and candleholders to vases and an étagère — each available in two colourways. Produced in China, but developed with a clear focus on preserving her signature irregularities: bubbles, shifts in form and subtle imperfections. More accessible, without losing its edge.
These aren’t fragile ornaments. They’re bold pieces that hold their own in a space. Objects that could sit on a pedestal, but come alive in the everyday. On a shelf, next to a lamp, catching whatever light happens to hit them. Each one feels slightly different: a fingerprint, not a formula. The goal wasn’t perfection. It was presence.
